How Much Is A Fioricet Worth

2917 - decision time

... coastal China, April 18, 1942, 8:20 p.m.

After 12 hours, the 02,344 - Doolittle's plane - just crossed the Chinese coast, but on board is the concern, not relief, dominates.

Radio remains desperately silent and out, it is pitch dark. In an attempt to identify, or at least find common ground on which to land, Doolittle was in 8000 feet (about 2500 meters), but after more than an hour of fruitless efforts, the tanks are dry.

must choose between the forced landing in darkness, or skydiving. At 9:20 p.m., the five 02,344 men opt for the latter solution and evacuating the aircraft, which crashed on a hill a few moments later.

This time the luck has finally turned its back on Doolittle Boys, which, in the minutes that follow, are found all face the same choice: to crash or jump.

Like those of 02,344, 02,270 men of "Whiskey Pete" choose to skip, soon imitated by those of 02282, 02283, 02303 "Whirling Dervish" 02,250 (the only one to have been damaged over Tokyo), 02,249 "Hari Kari-er" of 02,278 "Fickle Finger" 02247 of "The Avenger" , and 02297. The

02298 "The Green Hornet" itself must make a forced landing on the coast, as well as 02,261 "Ruptured Duck" and 02267 "TNT". The

02,292 for its part is trying to land in a rice field, but if the operation works fairly well, the airmen are then forced to burn their own unit, for fear it falls into hands of the Japanese. The pilot of

02268 "Bat Out of Hell" is not happiest, after ordering his crew to jump, then crashes his B-25 near Ningpo.

In the end, and within minutes, fifteen B-25 are brand new and being shipped to the paradise of scrap ...

What inspired me?  Ce qui m'inspire?

I drew inspiration from everywhere and anywhere. After I became an avid card-maker, I love looking through Etsy shops, magazines, store displays, blogs, fashion, trends from celebrities....etc. I love to keep an open mind and let my imagination run wild. I love that when the creative "magic" happens. My approach in stamping is to use stamps in as many creative ways as possible. I love it when a card/project can leave you with a happy smile and make you feel content.

Inspiration comes from everywhere: Etsy, magazines, blogs, fashion ... I like to keep an open mind to all kinds of creative sources and I like this magic moment mojo seizes me. My Clitoris Is Smelly

2916 - China

... unlike the 02,242 who came to divert to Siberia, all other B-25 - or fifteen devices - continue the mission as planned, which, after having crossed the east-west Japan, has finally lead up 'China in after another long flight over the East China Sea

This plan, remember, also plans to land the B-25 in Zhejiang Province , and on a secure site and prepared by supporters of Chiang Kai-shek ... but the problem is that the said plan is totally unworkable!

It is primarily a question of timing as airplanes, as we have seen, took off with about ten hours ahead of schedule, so that nobody in the ground, not s is waiting to see happen ... and even less a series of foul-ups, but also radio silence imposed by Halsey, prevented any communication of this schedule change.

is then a question of weather : Perfect at the time of the bombing, it will only continue to deteriorate thereafter and as we approach the Chinese territory, so that when the first B-25 - that of Doolittle - addresses the Chinese coast, after twelve hours, conditions have become infected, and it is now dark.

And finally there, and especially the problem of fuel: off with 300 to 400 miles farther than planned, the B-25 have also extended their flight time of one to two hours, and consumed gasoline they might be able to find land on which to land safely ...

Lights 2915 - Trans-Siberian

... completely taken by surprise by the attack the B-25, the Japanese defenses are for their non-existent or at best very inefficient: the 02250 is slightly damaged by flak over Tokyo, and 02,282 forced to rid of his bombs prematurely after seeing Japanese planes.

Few things in short, nothing to prevent the B-25, now empty bunkers from scamper at low altitude and without asking for rest.

But this time, the Chance, so far without flaw, began to tire: of the 02,242 Captain York's - 8th to bomb Tokyo - the dorsal turret was completely blocked and, especially, an engine gives worrying signs of weakness ... and a growing appetite for fuel inconsiderate.

A quick calculation will take a pilot to understand that it will fail to rally China with what remains in the tanks. Cape thus the USSR, and more precisely on the Siberia and Vladivostok .

Only here: although large recipient of U.S. aid against Nazi Germany - which will provide assistance including nearly 900 B-25 - USSR is neutral in the fight against Japan (1).

And if the landing of 02,242 finally goes smoothly - this is the only one! - B-25 and its crew were immediately interned by the Soviet authorities.

After more than a year of captivity, the five men still succeed in escaping from Iran, and to rally the United States, where they will land in May 1943, but the plane, it will be confiscated and incorporated in the Soviet VVS and probably scrapped in 1950 ...

(1) the USSR declared war on Japan on 8 August 1945, two days after the U.S. bombing of Hiroshima.

Loss Of Mother Quotes

2914 to 30 seconds over Tokyo

... in the collective imagination, the Doolittle Raid , it is primarily the movie "Thirty Seconds Over Tokyo " , made in 1944 by Mervyn LeRoy , according to the book that the IEUTENANT Lawson , pilot of B-25 "Ruptured Duck" , wrote himself well after his return to the United States.

historically fairly accurate overall, this film about sins, however many points ... starting with the fact that Tokyo was not the only city under attack, and also that the overflight of the Japanese capital actually lasted more than five minutes, given the extent of it.

Above all, and for reasons as much as the cinematography of Propaganda, he gives this bombardment of images worthy of the Apocalypse, with many crumbling buildings and factories ablaze.

images that can incite the viewer to believe that the city was almost completely razed this afternoon there.

Nothing is further from the truth: with only one ton of bombs per aircraft, the raid does in fact cause only minimal damage - it can also in be otherwise - and the damage to be repaired quickly, moreover, to the point that most people will not learn that the bombing by hearsay.

Ultimately, and with all due respect to Hollywood, the only result of interest in the military is obtained by the 02,247 "The Avenger" , one device to bombard Yokosuka and, by incredible stroke of luck, manages to place one of its four 227-pound bombs on the small carrier Ryuho , then completion and commissioning which will by itself be delayed by several months (1)

(1) born tanker submarines, the Ryuho was at Yokosuka since December 1941, to be converted into a small carrier of 15,000 tons.

Corner Pedestal With Towel Bar

2913 - noon, Tokyo

... Tokyo, April 18, 1942, 12:00

A Tokyo, the 7 million inhabitants of the city are preparing for a new peaceful afternoon, punctuated by speakers of Propaganda installed in all streets and, since the war began, broadcast military music, patriotic slogans and, of course, announcements of victories all the more grandiose than the other.

Fighting take place far away, thousands of miles and, anyway, infantrymen, sailors and airmen Japanese supermen very superior to anything that the enemy can oppose them Western.

The Indies and their precious oil - a goal and challenge of this war - is Japanese for a month, the Americans went to Bataan on April 9 and Corregidor those not have much longer; the Australia now living in psychosis of a Japanese landing and no later than the day before, the Japanese Imperial Army has imposed further humiliation to Britain, taking control of the entire Burma, and rejecting the British troops to India.

The time therefore is triumphalism, and how could anyone imagine that not far away at sea, a U.S. submarine, the USS Thresher (SS-200), recently spent several days to ship weather forecasts for a U.S. fleet whose planes are now only a few kilometers from the city ...

DT's CARDS ON Valerie's 2nd skit - Carters (2)

Hello Friends! Today, We Have the pleasure of sharing one's take o Valerie's second skit.
Bonjur the Scropines! Today, we are pleased to present our version of the skit Valerie .

Virginia

confess that this second sketch with the round shapes made me think .. . to find how to format those famous round!
And finally, once I was at my little paper everything fell into place smoothly.

I Have That I admitted to Spent lot of time thinking On The 2nd skit With The round shapes ... Goal, at The End, When I sat in front of my desk, Everything Easily cam!

On the first card, I used this nice "doily" for a card a bit 'rock'n roll "all dressed in black and white. As for my man, I wanted to avoid the cliché side of the card "love" with pink hearts. I like the contrast between the sentimental side (brought by the tablecloth, text, butterfly) and the slightly more modern given the choice of colors and clips ...

is my first card, i used this beautiful doily for a "rockin" Cardinal dressed up with black and white. Because this card is for my Man, I wanted to Avoid the cliché Of A Card With love's pink and hearts. I like the contrast Between The sentimal side (With The doily, tea and feeling the butterfly) and The Modern side a sealed envelope and The Choice of Colors by The Staple ...

And this is my second map, in a style completely different ... a bit more bucolic, but you'll notice the recurrence of the little butterfly! A wire is wound into the center circle instead of hosting a sheet of felt. I have wanted to play with the materials: wire, felt, string, kraft ...

My 2nd card IS Totally different ... a little bit more bucolic, goal-you-can record The Butterfly That Is Still here! I played With The "texture" I Used wire (For the central round), felt, string and kraft ...

Pascale

Again, I find maps of Virginia after mine and I enjoy the similarities they Present ...
Once Again, I Had not seen Virginia's cards, and Once Again, I find it so amusing That We Have A Few Things In Common.

My first map is part of my famous series turquoise and anise. Like Virginia, I opted not for the wire but worked for a string in a circle. The first card
Is Still form my teal and lime phase. Just like Virginia, I Used twine (not wire) That I shaped Into a circle.

As the two maps of Virginia, I also have a butterfly on my second card!
I chose to create the circle with perforations to reduce further the map ...

aussi I've got a butterfly on my card, "whereas Virginia has' em on Both Her cards. To Make the card "lighter", I just dot-punched The Circle!

I wonder what we prepared Alexandra ... Can not wait to see
What Alex has done ...

How To Make Quakers Oats Porridge

2912 - to the cheers Japanese

... April 18, 1942, 12:00

In the B-25, after five hours flight, are now to draw the Japanese coast, the tension of the crew is at its maximum.

tension, but surprise, it did not see any enemy fighter in the sky, and especially that of being consistently hailed by fishermen and farmers, they fly at low altitude!

anesthetized from the beginning of the war by the triumphant discourse of Propaganda, they obviously have no reason to imagine that this war, they believed the consequences reserved for only enemies of Japan, just to catch up and that they see the planes go right now jackrabbit "are not theirs.

And besides America is far, thousands of miles. How enemy planes could they reach so far, and also thwart the vigilance of the navy and air force imperial?

Unless they are lured by the big red circle that American planes in the center still wearing their badge (1), which evokes so that Japanese planes it has already led to many tragic mistakes ...

(1) since 1 January 1921, the badge affixed to U.S. military aircraft included a red disk in the center of a star White, itself contained in a blue disc. Confusion with Japanese aircraft, the red disk was removed by order of May 15, 1942

OUR CARDS-CARTERIE Valerie (sketch1)

***
Virginia

For my first card, I have faithfully followed the sketch Valerie (well, okay, I added the butterfly! !)... I wanted very "nature" with its shades (Kraft-green-white), with the pattern "wood" embossed on the center square and with butterfly ...

My first card Is A Faithful take Valerie's 1st skit you ... (Yes, I know, I Have Added a butterfly!). I thing With The natural theme colors (green-white-kraft), The Wood's embossed pattern and the butterfly ...

On my second card, I have a little "off axis" the central square was slightly rotated to the right! Again, the card is very simple: a drop cloth (which I frayed the edges), buffer "text", a piece of lace, scalloped edge of a fall and here is my card!

With my 2nd card, I played With The central square has litlle bit Which Is Rotated On the Right ... Again, my card est très simple: a piece of fabric Remaining, a "feeling" stamp, a bit of lace, scalloped edge year & the card IS ready!

***
Pascale

For this first card, I am inspired by Valerie's sketch but also recent achievements of my sidekick Virginia, on which corrugated board is often at the right place. White drawing paper, a small drop Kesi'art, a small piece of corrugated cardboard (Clairefontaine, not out of a box of fruit and vegetables), Fiskars perforation, two buffers and a small pin.

For my first card, I Was Inspired by Valerie's sketch aussi goal by Virginia's latest creations using corrugated cardboard. So for this card i used drawing paper, a tiny strip of Kesi'Art pp, my Fiskars border punch, corrugated cardboard for Some fancy craft (not from a moving box ...), Two stamps and a pine.

My second card is part of a series anise and turquoise, colors that I use for many cards at this time ... Cardstock, embossed flower prints made with Kesi'Art, ficelle turquoise, perfo EK Success.
I'm going through a teal and lime phase. I used embossed lime cardstock in the middle, teal twine, a flower made of Kesi'Art p.p, and a border made with an EK Success border punch.

I'm smiling as I'm seeing my partners' cards. You see, we don't share our creations until it is time to publish, therefore it is very amusing to notice how we give and take ideas without even knowing it. I've always been a big fan of "texture" and recycling and that bit of corrugated paper was just the perfect touch to contrast the elegant polished look of the other two cardstocks. (Webster's Pages). It Was The Best anchor aussi pour la pines' ends to Be Secured. By the way, That Is an old favorite quote of mine. It Reminds Me Of An explanatory I Presented in Front Of The Français literature class, I loved Every second of it!

I smiled seeing the scart of my buddies. Let me explain, the more often we do not see our cards before publishing eels. It is amusing to note the various influences circulating ente us without our being really aware of. I have always attached great importance to the texture, the interplay of materials. Here, the piece of cardboard you create the texture contrast between the papers with fairly sophisticated background. It also a good choice to plant pins and do no harm. For the record, that quote is one of my favorite and rejuvenates me. It reminds me of a presentation I loved to present to the class of English literature.

For this one, i used a patterned paper doily INSTEAD OF. I Used ink and mists to create a nice "vintagey-St. Pat's Day-style."
For this card, I used a doily of pastry. I played with inks and mists to get a look a little "vintage" (as it is a map for St. Patrick needed a bit of green).

I hope you find inspiring thesis cards. We're anxious to see your take is Valerie's sketches ;-))
I hope you enjoyed it. We look forward to seeing your interpretations of the sketches of Valerie ;-))

2911 - the Great Adventure

... April 18, 1942, 9:20.

In a roar of engines or maxed out, the "Bat Out of Hell" was in turn snatched from the deck of the Hornet and immediately headed to Nagoya .

board, each of the five crew members breathed a sigh of relief ... as did those of Doolittle's plane, 59 minutes ago.

But for all of them it is now that the real difficulties begin

First, there is the crossing itself, an endless journey of about five hours, we proceeded to listen the noise of engines and studying the sky.

Over the ocean and the area controlled by the Japanese, everybody knows in fact that any mechanical failure, or any intrusion of an enemy fighter, invariably ends with a ducking, synonymous from certain death.

Before taking off, these young people do in fact were no illusions and provided each other more than 50% loss. But with barely 20 years But they had had little trouble convincing himself that it would be other - and not them - who would receive the wrong number in the great lottery of Death ...

Yet again, Luck seems to smile in bold, so it safely after five hours of flight, the first B-25 are finally drawing the Japanese coast.
